LA RECENSIONE

Stuff you can't listen to during the day.

I'll be very brief. Here a -listen and stop- would be the best way to put it.

Sun and Mad Sweet don't get along. This has been the case since the moniker Boduf Songs appeared, 10 years ago, making a quiet entrance into the world of the most isolationist, minimal, and drowsy singer-songwriting. Since then, things have changed but not too much. The slowcore of the first excellent works hasn't disappeared, not at all. Nor has the hypnagogic nature of his music. He has simply set out to add to it, to make his sound less rarefied but equally ethereal.

This album is the result of the path taken since 2008, the year of the beautiful "How Shadows Chase the Balance". A new sense of expansiveness, carpets of blurred and elegant electronics, percussion that accompanies a slow and beautiful pace without haste. All reaching its summation in "Modern Orbita".

Listen to it before dawn.

Boduf Songs

Boduf Songs is the project of English musician Matthew (Matt/Mat) Sweet from Southampton. Early albums defined a minimalist, nocturnal drone-folk style recorded in solitude, later expanding with electronics, percussion, and occasional heaviness while retaining a dark, introspective core.
