A young man sits thoughtfully on the threshold of his humble abode.
In the background, thousands of other dwellings identical to his, a sea of faces thinned by hardship. In their eyes, the resignation of those who have had to reckon with the indifference of the rest of the world and perhaps of God himself, from their very first cries. But there also dwells within them the anger born from the awareness of having had no choice in finding themselves swallowed and enslaved in this concrete jungle. To then find themselves imprisoned by poverty and whipped by ignorance once the arrogance and oppression of those who dragged them there unwillingly slackened the unjust chains of slavery to tighten them mortally in those of oppression.
But the young man and some of his trusted friends are not indifferent to all this.
They know that relying on the understanding of those who for centuries have watched their people live in those conditions while feeling justified is pointless.
But they also know that nothing will change until they themselves raise their lives, although so hard and unhappy, to higher purposes than daily survival.
And so they decide to speak to these restless souls, reminding them that evil can never be the solution to evil. Because only love can be considered a valid alternative to hate.
And so love it shall be!!! Love for women, our mothers, sisters, and life companions, prey even more fragile to this corrupt and ruthless system.
Love for our fellow beings, to never again be seen as strangers to other destined fates, but as companions on the same journey.
And above all, so much, so much, so much love for Music. So that a chorus of a thousand voices singing sounds ever louder than a thousand insults, the obsessive and hypnotic rhythm of drums, percussion, and bass becomes a liberating outlet far more than a gunshot, our bodies exorcise the demons of our souls by dancing to exhaustion.
Continuing to trust in the presence of the Most High and Supreme, never despairing that one day He will return to Earth to free all oppressed peoples and lead them to a better place, towards a new life. It is for Him and all the wonderful things this world has to offer, despite the cruelty of some of its inhabitants, that the young man and his friends decide to rise from their doorstep to bring their message of peace and love everywhere.
66 years after the birth of that man, the History of Music, also seated but on a golden throne with seats covered in human leather, in a mega penthouse of some metropolis born of Western luxury, thanks them.
And millions of ears and souls scattered to the four corners of the globe, thank along with her.
