LA RECENSIONE

"Primal Rock Therapy" is the CD reissue of the complete works by Blood Circus, a band from Seattle among the first to be recognized as founders of the grunge movement, if only for being the first to release a seven-inch for Sub Pop (catalog number: SP13), namely "Two Way Street"/"Six Foot Under", a pair of muddy and distorted low-fidelity hard rock tracks that open this compilation, which, besides them, also includes their only EP, also titled "Primal Rock Therapy," along with various unreleased tapes.

The whole is permeated by a remarkable fury, ranging from the almost thrash ride of "My Dad's Dead" to the endless feedback layers of "Road To Hell". Nothing excessively innovative, but it's still an album to recover if you're eager to (re)discover a band for which, in the beginning, even TAD and Nirvana opened their shows.
