A sad album, definitely sad, but we must not judge the optimism or pessimism of a band, we must judge how they manage to convey their feelings. Sadness, depression, remorse, defeat, failure, oblivion, silence, promise, emptiness, paranoia, all these moods told with short but extremely intense lyrics, such an emotional singing that captures and drags you to closely see all the evil in this world. It also pushes you to look in the mirror to notice that in the reflection beyond your image there is so much suffering and not everything is as it appears to your eyes.
From the instrumental point of view, the same discourse of moods applies... In just three tracks (even though lasting a total of 55 min.) they manage to encapsulate Ambient, Doom, Drone, Stoner, Atmospheric Sludge and a hint of Post Rock, a via crucis of only three stations, and in each one, a different social issue is discussed, but the beauty of this album is that despite the heaviness of the sound and the lyrics, it flows clear, the hardest part perhaps is at the beginning, where in "A Descriptive Introduction" ambient and drone intertwine, but otherwise the drums act as an excellent accompaniment to navigate through the most muddy distortions and the flashes of a synth creepy and psychic (enveloping in "There Will Be Tomorrow"). And in "The Reality of Silence" the singer almost makes me cry, telling of lives that fade away, of souls burning because of a silent war, that will upholster with our bodies the rips of this world.
From the past influences of the members, they could be compared to Godflesh, but they remind me more of Minsk, same suffering but clean vocals. Obviously, comparisons are only for vague points of reference, this work is as exclusive as it is original.
Enjoy listening and happy reflection to all.
