Who is Wes Borland? The mastermind behind this project that began as a supergroup with names like Joshua Eustis, Josh Freese, and Danny Lohner, but also guitarist and co-founder of the controversial Limp Bizkit. Putting aside the latter, about whom it can be said that they owe much to him and whom he sometimes seems to want to renounce as he demonstrates in some statements, let's focus on this second album of theirs (excluding a cover album) composed almost entirely by Wes, almost solo in the studio due to the departure of the aforementioned and engaged as a multi-instrumentalist as well as a singer.

If the previous "Cruel Melody" was already an excellent album, with this work, dated 2013, the band's style is refined. The subtle influences that hinted at Nine Inch Nails as well as a certain type of electronic rock are set aside, and the creature seems to enjoy its own trademark, a style that makes this album a standalone episode in which we find a mix of rock, industrial with almost new wave atmospheres including various experiments, sometimes with tribal influences, garnished by Wes's excellent vocal performance which, although not enjoying great technique, engages in a fairly personal and schizophrenic style that blends well with everything else. It moves from more direct tracks, especially in the first part such as "How to look naked" and "We light up", to more reflective moments as in the tail of the album and the title track, creating a descending but always dark atmosphere as the minutes pass, all with a logical thread that completes an inspired album that requires multiple listens to be appreciated, making this also its virtue, with each listen we will find a new detail in this journey into the psyche.

Following it chronologically will be the subsequent and interesting "Lotus Island" which again changes the stylistic game, leaving us for years waiting for good news from this musician who, in my opinion, should continue to devote himself to this project.
