THE REVIEW

(in case anyone doesn’t remember: TIE'!)

"Bartolo?"
"Madam?"
"I'm feeling a slight hunger..."
"Shall we stop by the pork stand?"
"Mmm... I'm not sure. Then the porchetta gives me inflammation. It's not really hunger, it's more a craving for an instrumental heavy psych album"
"I understand, Madam"
"We should keep one of those Earthless albums in the car"

"I took the liberty, Madam, of placing in the baby seal leather CD holder this 'Saturdays and Space Travels' ('10) by Black Bombaim, a trio from Barcelos, Portugal. Two tracks, exuberantly named 'Side A' and 'Side B' at 19 minutes 47 seconds each: forty minutes of guitar acrobatics over insistent bass and drum pounding. Coarse-grained hard blues riffing that thins and stretches, flutters and frolics, free and happy like a jet-powered butterfly, in an instrumental drift with a jamming flair. Intensive stretching for drop tunings on elastic wah-wah carpets, aerobic delay and phaser for pleasantly overweight rhythms... Amid Sabbath-like cadences, stoner accelerations, and the gleam of chrome pedals"

"But tell me, Bartolo, do they resemble Earthless?"
"Like two cheeks of the same butt, Madam"
"Ah!"
