"Nobody's perfect."

The dear old Billy Wilder gives us with this film what is probably the greatest comedy of all time (or at least it is for me), namely a journey into the essence of comedy and everything that surrounds it.

Perfect actors (like an Oscar-worthy Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and the stratospheric and overflowing Marilyn... Of Course...), clockwork-like script and moments of wild laughter. In short, nothing in this film is out of place, maintaining its effectiveness even after more than 50 years (and that's no small feat). In this Masterpiece (because it indeed can be referred to as a Masterpiece in the higher sense), cross-dressing becomes an art form and misunderstandings don't forcibly aim to make you laugh but succeed in dragging the viewer into a grotesque story which, however, becomes incredibly "Believable," real.

And so the viewer can find themselves admiring Marilyn Monroe's body and falling in love, or truly believing they are on the sunny beaches of Florida, cheering for the protagonists on the run and dressed as not very attractive women. Everything is grotesque but plausible, and the brilliant ending is proof of that.
Is nobody perfect?

No, this film is...

PS: I won't tell you the plot in detail because I wouldn't want to be pedantic or boring, I'll just tell you that there's a him who becomes her, another him who becomes her. And then there's a her. Him 1 and him 2 fall in love with her, but they are dressed as women (they're escaping from the Mafia, having witnessed a mob massacre)... and then there's also a rich him 3 who falls in love with him 2 dressed as a woman... And then... Oh, forget it, I got lost... I'll just tell you to watch this film, which will really entertain you, and you won't be able to not love it.

A great classic always relevant.
