Hello, today I wanted to review a CD that I didn't like much, but it is considered very good by many.

If you know Bile, probably many of you will like them. They are a trio from the land of Dutch tulips, and they are obsessed with horror movies. In fact, they have created only two CDs: one about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre saga and this one I will review about the Friday the 13th saga by Jason V..

So, I wanted to say that the CD is well-packaged; the cover is very nice because it mirrors the poster of the first Friday the 13th movie released in 1980. Inside, there are lyrics accompanied by photos of the three musicians and a link to a site firstjason.com, which I couldn't find on the internet.

The thing I don't like about the CD is everything else: the lyrics seem too simplistic: they never talk about mutilations or the tortures our Jason inflicts on the young campers' bodies, in short, they don't dwell on the gory component of the film. Rather, the lyrics seem quite banal to me because, for example, they say: "one by one they meet their creator/right from the hand of their mutilator/death will be the only thing to occur" or another "awaken by the light/the return of the dead/ready to scream/ready to kill" or even "summer is ending/ clear blue skies/ the camp is about to begin/ as the silence is about to die" - these lyrics seem silly and not brutal enough, so they didn't convince me at all.

Even listening to the CD left me cold, I'd describe it as a preserved listening experience. The guitar is recorded too low, and it's hard to hear the pounding of the drums. Very often, it slows down to quite slow tempos that bore me a little, and I think some songs are too long, even the intros in many tracks, although short, don't really excite me much to listen to the single piece multiple times. I read some reviews online that talk about this CD as one of the best and Bile as one of the best bands in Dutch goregrind; that's why I bought it, but it didn't convince me, and it has been gathering dust in my CD holder for months. If you want it, I'll give it to you, so you can tell me what you think, maybe you think it's a great CD. It doesn't say anything to me; the label that produces it is No Escape Records, which is a great label under which one of my favorite gore bands, called Hymen Holocaust, produces, those I really like a lot.

In my opinion, Bile are quite superfluous, but if you like horror movies, intros taken from the film and good old gore without too many expectations then maybe they will satisfy you. I was quite disappointed... listen to the sample I put up, and decide for yourself.
