LA RECENSIONE

As often happens at the debut, the desire to "overdo" is a decidedly classic flaw for most artists, eager to make their proposal as appealing and captivating as possible to the general public. This seems to have happened also to Between Changes And Me (no, not Between The Buried And Me, sorry), a trio fresh from their recording debut titled "BeCoMe". Eight decidedly "catchy" tracks at first impact, which can be listened to without any problems and indeed enjoy good production work, with well-calibrated sounds and a compositional quality that we could define as medium/high throughout the duration of the album. So far so good, if it weren't for the fact that the trio felt the need to give free rein to every single musical passion, approaching at times rock sounds in the style of the Foo Fighters, pop-punk, and why not some more "core"-oriented streaks that never hurt. Basically, the classic mixed salad that fills you up, but thinking back on it later, you can't say you fully enjoyed it. Examples of this "libertine" phase can be "Saturday Night's For Fighting" and "Still", two tracks as effective on first listen but perhaps too distant stylistically. Honestly, I think the most suitable path for this band is the more rock one, perhaps because the Italian scene is full of pop-punk and core-oriented bands (not that rock offers a better life, I know, but it certainly offers more paths to explore). In conclusion, "BeCoMe" shows us a band still unripe in terms of style but equipped with good ideas and a team following them that is definitely aligned to ensure the project can grow in the short term, leaving them with the arduous task of finding the right path.

Summary by Bot

Between Changes And Me's debut album 'BeCoMe' delivers eight catchy tracks with good production and medium-high compositional quality. The band's attempt to blend rock, pop-punk, and core styles results in a mixed listening experience that lacks stylistic cohesion. Standout tracks like 'Saturday Night's For Fighting' and 'Still' highlight this diversity but also the band's indecision. The reviewer suggests the band focus more on rock to carve a unique space in the Italian music scene.

Between Changes And Me

A three-piece band who released the debut album "BeCoMe". The DeBaser review describes the record as catchy and well produced but stylistically uneven.
