How old are you? If your (mental) age range is between 12 and 16, you will cry tears of joy playing the new chapter from the clever programmers at Bethesda. From 18 to 20, you might put it aside after a few hours, maybe reaching the end without spending too much time. From the age of 20 onward, you'll be back to playing Doom after a couple of days. Obviously, everything changes if you have a poster of some anime and a Lord of the Rings t-shirt: in that case, we return to the 12-16 age range.

This time, in the modest opinion of an occasional and nostalgic gamer, the result is a colossal letdown. In 2002, Morrowind opened a new path in computer RPGs, Oblivion paved the same path (even though it already smelled stale), and Fallout chapters refreshed the scene with a unique atmosphere; in 2011, Skyrim is the glaring example of how Bethesda recycles the same three reheated, chewed-up ideas and serves them on a lavish plate.

The technical department is masterful: excellent graphics, evocative sound. The duration is considerable (guaranteed several dozen hours to complete all tasks). Up to here, nothing to complain about.

We start our adventure as prisoners (exactly like the two previous chapters, so a new idea), escaping from a dragon. Then, after half an hour, we're already free to wander randomly, in the best tradition of the saga. If one isn't dazzled by the evocative landscapes, one realizes after a short time how everything is the same as before, how situations, missions, characters are of a sometimes startling banality, yet capable of thrilling the kid sick with noisy action and epic stories. Whether they're always the same matters little: orcs, magic, elves, powerful artifacts, and enchanted swords draw you in.

Total disappointment, once past the technical impact (again, very impressive), as, so-called casual gamer, I started this farce alongside the beautiful Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which offered me a deep plot, excellent playability with good longevity without being dispersive.

If the great Tolkien had realized the monsters he generated, he would have taken up DIY crafts.

Ps: one extra point for the background aspect.
