THE REVIEW

Interrabang is the soundtrack of the film of the same name by Giuliano Biagetti, released (and censored by judge Vittorio Occorsio, do you remember?) in 1969 in Italy.

The Mediterranean setting of the film is masterfully highlighted by the sunny and relaxing atmospheres created by Berto Pisano, one of the Italian masters of the lounge genre.

The music is dominated by strings that constantly provide a liquid carpet on which the other instruments of the orchestra can smoothly glide. Those who, like me, have the fortune of living on an island, can undoubtedly appreciate the smoothness of this music and can see the dazzling brilliance of the sun's rays reflecting off the surface of the sea. The theme of the record appears right from the first track, "A piedi nudi sulla spiaggia," and recurs in various variations throughout its duration. The prevailing sounds are Latin jazz, with a predominance of bossanova.

The presence of Edda Dell’Orso is indispensable, as her crystal voice embellishes the entire work.

The choice of the title is intriguing: it is a punctuation mark, halfway between a question mark and an exclamation point.
