By popular demand, here I am again gracing the scene of this wonderful site, full of grand metal reviews but also many cheeky comments (you can't have everything in life).

With my previous review, we left off with a Hamlet-like dilemma: is the best power metal played by Scandinavian bands? Or can we now say that even the Chinese can play it?

Follow me, and we will arrive at the solution.

The album I propose to you is Blood of the Warriors by Berserker, released in 2007. These guys, or rather unleashed furies, naturally play Power mixed with a bit of Epic; you already know what Power is, while Epic is everything that reminds us of and involves battle understood as a heroic, mythical moment (and if anyone remains alive), which can be passed down to posterity, and in the case of our Berserker, the saga of the Vikings! It’s very easy!

The berserker was practically a Viking who got high and wreaked havoc in battle; if a normal Viking was already scary, imagine a Viking with a melted brain. So just the band name gives us an idea of what we can expect on a sonic level.

These guys with this grandiose name have already been playing since 1989!!! You heard right, 1989, almost contemporary with the real Vikings, and finally, after almost twenty years, they managed to publish a full-length after a heap of self-produced EPs. Kudos for the patience! With my temperament, in their place, I would have already told everyone to go to hell. But they are not called Berserker for nothing!

The album presents itself as powerful as the power genre demands, and with technical accuracy that only great bands can afford.
I want to highlight "Fighting The Fear", which is a real punch in the inflamed gums with an epic-breaking moment, and also the final suite, composed of "Marching To The Glory..." and "... In The Glory You'll Die!".

As you can understand, they are all real anthems to sing in battle, and you can be sure that with a soundtrack of this kind, you cannot lose!

Let's get to us! They're called Berserker, they play Power and Epic, and they play it with calluses on their hands; do you think they're Scandinavian? YES! And here's the catch, NO, they're not! They're very Italian!!!!

The answer to our initial doubt is therefore: everyone can now play power, as long as they put passion and heart into it... only one category of people can never do it... THE CHEEKY ONES!

STAY POWER, BUT ALSO STAY BERSERKER
