Benito Jacovitti (1923–1997) was an Italian cartoonist and illustrator from Termoli, Molise, known for surreal, densely detailed drawings and characters such as Cocco Bill; he illustrated a 1964 edition of Pinocchio.

Worked as a comic artist and illustrator (including contributions to Il Vittorioso), creator of the comic character Cocco Bill, and noted for a trademark crowded, gag-filled graphic style loaded with visual jokes and strange creatures.

DeBaser hosts a close reading of Benito Jacovitti's illustrated Pinocchio (1964) and reflections on his wider work. The available review highlights Jacovitti's surreal, densely detailed style and his place in Italian illustration. Recommended for readers of vintage children's books and comic art.

For:Fans of Italian illustration, vintage children's books, comics collectors and readers interested in satirical art.

"Each must find what they want, even with fetishism, even as a filthy voyeur, like the most crass of soul peepers. But maybe not."
