THE REVIEW

Also, Ben Harper in 2009 finds the right band and finally does something worth listening to.

The tracks are all good, some above average.

Ben has shifted towards a Black Crowes-style sound, which has benefited him greatly.

If it had Chris Robinson's voice, we could talk about one of the best albums by the Black Crowes.

In this latest of Ben's, it's definitely the Band that makes the difference, the Relentless7.

They give him that "power-blues" touch that he has always greatly needed, pulling him out of the quicksand of that colorless and soupy blues that has always made him unlistenable to me.

I don't think Ben Harper can easily repeat himself at this level.

So, for those who don't know him, pretend this is his debut, and look for this "White Lies for The Dark".

Forget about the other works, you won't find anything like it.

Happy listening.
