THE REVIEW

BELINDA CARLISLE'S FOURTH ALBUM IS DEFINITELY MORE POP THAN THE PREVIOUS ONES BUT WITH SOME ROCK INFLUENCES THAT ARE AT TIMES SURPRISING, SEE I PLEAD INSANITY (WHOSE VIDEO IS PERHAPS AS INTENSE AS THE SONG ITSELF, SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT) AND YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT ME.

THE FIRST TWO SONGS LIVE YOUR LIFE BE FREE AND DO YOU FEEL LIKE I FEEL ARE INSTEAD AS POP AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, AND THE RELATIVE VIDEOS ARE GENIUS AND KITSCH BEYOND BELIEF. SHE IS TRULY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED SINGERS IN THE WORLD.

THE BALLAD HALF THE WORLD IS INTENSE BUT NOT SO ENGAGING. LITTLE BLACK BOOK IS SWEET AND CHILDLIKE, PLEASANT TO LISTEN TO. AS FOR THE REST, NOTHING THAT CAN REALLY BE REMEMBERED EXCEPT THE USUAL 5-6 SONGS.

Summary by Bot

Belinda Carlisle's fourth album leans more into pop with interesting rock elements in select songs. The standout tracks include 'I Plead Insanity' and the catchy title track. The music videos are notably creative and kitsch. Some ballads like 'Half The World' add intensity but don't fully engage. Overall, a mixed album with a few memorable moments.
