Self-produced debut on full length by Behind The Scenes from Jesi (AN): nine tracks with decidedly rock tones characterized by marked grind/grunge/post-grunge undertones; melodies that progress, never trivially, on exquisitely uneven tracks, rich in changes and sudden stops, sometimes sounding electronic even without being so (the powerful Disease and Sick Masterslave), other times pointing towards distant continents and times, as in Carmen Candelabri and Enchantress' Face.

Fairy-tale and dreamlike moments frequently alternate with more nervous and tight rhythms, but overall there is a sort of balance, where there is also room for poetry and recitation (A Curious and always Carmen Candelabri) and for pure electronics: the break in M.me Cadeau is beautiful, where a techno/house base is inserted, covered by acid and lysergic guitar riffs, very The Music, and the finale of Carmen Candelabri, again her, with a rhythmic storm closely reminiscent of goddess Bjork and certain remixes by the majesty Autechre.

Among the influences scattered throughout the album, Tool, Pearl Jam, and Archive emerge (Enchantress' Face is not too distant a relative of Again); maybe a recording that's a bit too polished in certain cases, the voice capable of going from peaks of perfection (Last Time In The Garden, with a splendid duet with the piano) to avoidable creaks, sometimes excessive and redundant refinements (certain keyboard interventions a bit too pompous and baroque...) - these, in my opinion, the only flaws of a performance that, as a start, is more than decent: a group of high technical caliber, with clear influences typical of other local bands, but which does not smell of déjà vu, as it manages to mix scattered ingredients, generating a new, original, and well-digestible product.

One to watch, who knows, maybe one day they will come out from behind the scenes...
