English rock band formed in 2009 by former Oasis members including Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock; released two studio albums, Different Gear, Still Speeding (2011) and BE (2013); disbanded in 2014.

Formed from former Oasis members after Oasis split in 2009. Core lineup included Liam Gallagher (vocals), Gem Archer (guitar), Andy Bell (guitar) and Chris Sharrock (drums). Jeff Wootton and Matt Jones are noted contributors; producer Dave Sitek worked on the album BE. Two studio albums: Different Gear, Still Speeding (2011) and BE (2013).

Reviews are mixed: the 2011 debut Different Gear, Still Speeding is seen as uneven and often compared unfavorably to Oasis, with praise for some tracks (e.g. Wigwam, The Beat Goes On). The 2013 album BE is regarded by some reviewers as more focused and improved in production. Critics repeatedly highlight Liam Gallagher's vocal presence and question the band's songwriting depth without Noel Gallagher.

For:Fans of Oasis and Britpop, listeners of British rock and critics interested in post-Oasis projects.

It all depends on your point of view: are we facing the eighth album by Oasis, or the first album by a debut band named Beady Eye?

Yes, because the album with which the "new" band (re)introduced themselves to the world last February 28, titled "Different gear, still speeding," is the emblem of mediocrity and superficiality.

BE is a hell of an album.

The album opens with the energy of "Four Letter Word", which seems almost like a liberating insult towards those who since that fateful night in late August 2009 have turned up their noses the moment Liam and the others were even mentioned, seen first as parasites and then as antagonists of the divine Noel, and which would later be used to open the band’s first tour concerts.
