The underground scene of Pesaro in recent months has made a strong impression within the big boot: from the new-wave sensation of Soviet Soviet to Brothers In Law, reaching Be Forest. And I'll stop here for now.
The passport doesn't lie, but the horizon and aspiration are international, where the young ones, Costanza, Erica, and Nicola (now four) are appreciated and their talent is recognized.
Released in 2011 by We Were Never Being Boring, "Cold" represents the first work of the band from Marche.
The splendid and evocative cover of "Cold" is a sort of entrance door, a welcome to their icy and treacherous winter forest. An enchanting album. A frozen forest, dotted with strange creatures and filled with strange noises, where from afar, one can hear the calls and lullabies of a sweet and enchanting siren.
There are many references, but what remains is a handful of very good tracks from the hit “Florence” where the strong influence of the eighties new-wave is felt, to the dream-pop with shoegaze nuances of “Dust” and “Thrill”, not to mention “Wild Brain” or the arctic snow with included full moon of “Buck & Crow.”
We've ventured too far in, now it's too late, there's no discussing leaving here, the fog covers everything, nothing can be seen a hand's breadth away, but we already feel like an integral part of nature, we are at ease. We lie down, we wait for nothing else than for the forest itself to enter our lungs.
Let's put aside the chronic foreign-worship that's become a national sport for many, along with the adulation of the “stranger,” a natural corollary of the former, and let's be proud of what's happening in our own home.
Why The xx and Beach House and they not?
