THE REVIEW

Interesting the hardcore proposed by BBS Paranoicos, Chilean band, with melodic inclinations, known for their protest lyrics, which have quickly sparked heated and recurring criticisms for much of their career, due to the blistering socio-political climate of the place.

After a few decent albums, in 1997 they released the successful "Hardcore Para Señoritas", 12 tracks, for a total of about 20 minutes, sharp and fast, made unique by excellent riffing (especially in "Crucial"), and by the raw and powerful tone of the singer Omar Acosta (excellent performances on "Vueltas" and "Tac"). Not bad also the hoarse setting adopted on the rapid "Happy Birthday", "Inocencia", and the melodic one (less successful) of "Lo Siento". Good and incisive drumming by Juan Herrera, in great shape on episodes like "Yo" and "Pavimento". The peak of the album is the beautiful Bad Religion-esque "Hostil" (notable guitar solo).

An enjoyable and well-structured work, followed by albums with a more "easy" and direct imprint, decidedly less appealing.
