Dear metal brothers! In these dark times! In this new Middle Ages of the 21st century, sadly characterized by the repugnant TR factor (chavs, reality TV stars and bimbos); against this rabble that looks to the future through exclusively branded glasses, that advances towards progress on treadmills, that intoxicates itself with culture through the instruction booklets for mobile phones and bases its life philosophy in hair removal cream...! We say Enough!

We! Metalheads! Shocked and aghast in the face of such devastation, in our role as anti-chavs by divine investiture (I refer you to my last review of Ocean for details), say that the time has now come to react with determination!

How? Our history and tradition would require us to retaliate without many frills, with our beautiful hordes equipped with ordinance halberds and our stinky black Manowar t-shirts, but times have changed, now there are much more powerful and subtle means...

Here... I had thought of a nice Toll-Free Number, The Grey Phone! (metallic of course), as a means against any abuse perpetuated by the chavs. And furthermore, with enormous sense of responsibility, I've taken on the burdensome task of choosing the hold music, which is "Age Of Chaos" by Battleroar.

A group in which not exactly Viking blood flows, but no less warlike Mediterranean blood. These Italian-Greeks play a power with an epic flavor; the album is from 2005 and with the name of the band forms an absolutely pertinent combination with the purpose of our grey phone!

"Sword Of Crom", "Reforge The Sword", "Calm Before The Storm", "Dreams On Steel", are some of the
tracks that leave little to the imagination; the battlefield is their earthly Valhalla... the antechamber of the true Valhalla at the first smack in the face.
Powerful, technical and with a singer (our Marco Concoreggi) also the author of the lyrics, who interprets his role as leader with a megaphone with considerable mastery!

It should also be noted that if in their self-titled debut album of 2003, their sound was still too tied to the classic canons of the genre, like Manilla Road, with this second work, Battleroar clearly shows us that they have embarked on a path towards a more personal sound evolution.

In this "Age of Chaos" the time has come for the noise of battle! The proud and valiant metalheads against the dull and hairless chavs. The clanking sound of maces against the effeminate chatter of ultra-flat phones... who will prevail?
