Basement Jaxx are an English electronic music duo formed by Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe in the mid-1990s, known for energetic, genre-mixing house and dance productions.

The duo launched the Atlantic Jaxx label and built their reputation as DJs in Brixton before releasing early singles and albums that mixed house with punk, garage and Latin influences.

DeBaser hosts a small set of enthusiastic reviews praising Basement Jaxx's energetic, punkified take on house. Reviews highlight Remedy, Kish Kash and early Atlantic Jaxx singles. The duo's Brixton DJ roots and label work are noted as key to their sound.

For:Fans of electronic, house, garage and UK dance music; readers interested in 1990s–2000s club culture.

Ratcliffe and Buxton are two superb circus bonhomme in their madness, all intent on subverting, on punkifying the cheesiest and handbaggiest house canons.
