Disjointed noises, sounds from other galaxies.

This is what I immediately thought after the closing track Amen, with its astounding length of a whopping 25 minutes! 25 minutes of madness, complete frenzy, confusion, acoustic delirium. Not to mention the remaining 47 minutes of equally chaotic, pure chaos that's hard to digest all at once.

Yes, because it could very well be said (and it's fair to understand those who claim this) that in their psyche-noise-garage-prog-space-shoegazing-drone-noise rock (far from purists, these guys, huh?) in the long run, these Bardo Pond (with another great album like Amanita) turn out to be boring, heavy, exhausting, often lacking in ideas and repetitive; chaos for its own sake all things considered, requiring repeated listens to be convincing, or destined for quick discarding if patience is not your virtue.

If good old Bufo Alvarius (the charming little toad who likes to inflict hallucinations on its lovers) were not only tropical but could also be found here in Italy, I would kiss it for hours and then rush to listen to this record.

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks this CD would have been much more enjoyable without the background voices? (sometimes out of place)
