THE REVIEW

The BandAdriatica was formed in 2006, has 4 CDs to its name, and in almost 10 years of career has played all over Europe, from Spain to Albania, from Belgium to Hungary. In April (2015), they released the CD BABILONIA, where the warmth of traditional music becomes overheated by the frenzy of Balkan music. Saxophones and guitars, trumpet and electric bass, clarinet and percussion, trombone and accordion all flow swiftly with energy and a touch of madness. The concertmaster is Claudio Prima, a voice and author of many tracks included in the album, but also a “border deconstructor” who has given his best in this work, also leaving space for the other musician-composers. In the tracklist, besides the eponymous track, stand out “Turkayak” by Emanuele Coluccia; the enigmatic “Mania DGL” by Vincenzo Grasso and the closing piece by Gaetano Carrozzo “Tre balli in maschera” (my favorite). Listen to the album “without doubt” and “without destination” because “now everything is possible”, in Babilonia.
