THE REVIEW

If you want to be trendy, you must buy the ethnic music CDs from Peter Gabriel's Real World or similar. Lots of nice, strange sounds that Alex Britti is not capable of giving you. From Youssou N'Dour to the Sardinian Tenores de Bitti. Any yuppie or bo-bo inhabiting the extremely provincial Italian metropolises has at least one CD of this genre. If, on the other hand, you're just any idiot, you deserve to have Badmarsh & Shri in your discography. A non-trivial ensemble of instruments and sounds, for this genre called nu-asian cool. You'll find everything, from the inevitable sitar to the simplest drum machine. But what class! A London DJ and a musician from Bombay have put together a masterpiece. One style misstep: a bad cover of James Brown's 'Get Up. But you must have an album like this.
