The Profile

Badger were a British progressive rock band formed by former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye. They debuted with the live album One Live Badger (recorded at London’s Rainbow Theatre, 1973) and followed with White Lady (1974), the latter featuring a more pop/R&B direction. The classic lineup included Tony Kaye, Brian Parrish, David Foster and Roy Dyke.

One Live Badger features cover art by Roger Dean and was produced by Jon Anderson. The lineup: Tony Kaye (keyboards), Brian Parrish (guitar, vocals), David Foster (bass, vocals), Roy Dyke (drums). Follow-up: White Lady (1974).

Reviewers praise Badger’s live debut for its strong musicianship, tasteful prog/blues blend, and iconic Roger Dean cover. Ties to Yes and Jon Anderson’s production are highlighted. The set isn’t deemed groundbreaking, but it’s considered enjoyable early-’70s rock with standout interplay on River.
