Debut for Bachi da Pietra with an album that stands out from the Italian musical crowd, tainted by bad sounds and ailing. Well, despite my tendency to generalize, I manage to find, in this musical wreckage, a record that feels new, well-played, exciting, one of the most original projects of the Italian rock of recent times.

"Tornare nella terra" was recorded in the cellars of the sacristy of San Ippolito in Nizza Monferrato and, when listening to this work, you can perceive the environments, the climate, the underground aspect of this place. The music of this duo is primitive, minimal, archaic, sparse, post-Fordist. An obsessive, metropolitan unrest emerges from the lyrics and music, a product of progress and technology. The words are barely spoken, whispered, mumbled, they come from the bowels of the earth. It is the earth that calls, that wants us, that wants to bring us back to it and its song is deep, desperate, restless, finding no peace. The earth gives life and wants life, it holds our fate and knows our path.

"Tornare nella terra" strikes inside the listener, hypnotizes them with dirty sounds and angry lyrics, and describes the living, the daily life, opaque and dark, that causes festering wounds on the body. All the malaise of technological society is evident in this album, there is no redemption, barely any breath, we are faced with songs that tremendously influence the mood precisely because they delve deeply into our daily life. This debut by Bachi da Pietra should be listened to by everyone, indiscriminately, to see what kind of reaction it provokes or rather to discover what kind of sensations it gives. But unfortunately, it's not music for everyone, it's a test of physical endurance, and unfortunately, the "Italian audience" is not used to this kind of reflective, gruesomely interesting, slow and satisfying, suspended and unhealthy genre.
