And this is the second chapter of Bacco il Matto's musical adventure. Musically, the album appears richer than the previous one, with excellent production entrusted to the Ducoli – Bonetti duo. A change in the lineup is noteworthy, as bassist Luca Pedrazzi has been replaced by Dario Filippi from Feel Hippies & Grompies. Guests are also present in this album, including Roberto Ortolan who plays the slide on “Devi stare dalla parte giusta” and “Raffaella”, the acoustic layout in “Linea di confine”, the electric solo in “Ho trovato l’oro”, the acoustic in “Vita galera”, as well as some passages that add a special touch to “Il tuo gentiluomo”. This last song also features singer Alessandra Cecala who duets with Ducoli, adding her voice in “Vito Malavita” and “Mani nude”. Among the guests, we also find another Edolese, Alberto Patrissi, who plays the Telecaster on “Ho trovato l’oro”. To complete the guest sphere, we also mention Valerio Gaffurini who plays the organ in four tracks and Archi Buelli who contributes with synthesizers and percussion.
The first track of the CD “Devi stare dalla parte giusta” is a rock ballad dedicated to “bad” bartenders, with the usual ducoliano hallmark in the lyrics and a rather nocturnal atmosphere in the music. The stakes are raised with “Gesù mi ha chiesto di restare”, featuring a very pronounced guitar riff and lyrics with apocalyptic visions. The same musical direction applies to “Vito Malavita”, dedicated to a real character who owns a wine shop in Borno. Another particularly interesting track is “Ho trovato l’oro”, which has already appeared on “Lolita” (Ducoli's first solo CD) and is re-proposed here in an arrangement somewhat reminiscent of some atmospheres from the latest Litfiba albums. The album closes with a piece in English written specifically for them by Chip Taylor, a historic musician and author of songs for great figures (including Jimi Hendrix): a very slow ballad with a great harmonica solo and excellent guitar notes. For informational purposes, the remaining pieces that make up the album are titled “Il tuo gentiluomo”, “Linea di confine”, “Vita galera”, and “Mani nude”.
