Unfortunately, few connoisseurs of the grotesque remember this Finnish black metal combo, known solely for this Minicd from 1995. It entered the annals due to the particularly infamous artwork, which shows the leader Lord Satanachia striking a dramatic pose while wearing a regulation leather jacket and a terrifying Immortal t-shirt, wielding a giant inverted cross against the backdrop of a cheerful little forest in Helsinki.
The disc starts with an intro: "Medieval Journey," featuring a ritualistic drum with anguished voices in the distance, followed immediately by "the Glow of the Golden Fullmoon," a very simple yet extremely primitive track reminiscent of early Burzum. The entire Mcd is characterized by a strong satanic attitude, yet it remains consistently a fairly melodic Black.
This Mcd concludes as it began, with a minimalist and tribal rhythm featuring inhuman voices invoking occult deities. The career of Azazel begins and ends here, as it was cut short by a sordid judicial incident when singer Lord Satanachia was imprisoned for decapitating his girlfriend with a machete. I recommend this Mcd to all black metal fetishists who want to have absolutely everything from this movement...
