LA RECENSIONE

Terrifying album by Autechre. I have them all, but one like this has never been seen... Impressive. The summa of their work. A point of arrival that is a point of departure towards... only they know where. A masterpiece. Two virtuosos. Stuff from another planet. After thirty listens you start to understand something. I'm at about the fortieth. I look ahead. And I begin to see something. Mist. Which is always better than fog... Or worse, for me who loves driving in the countryside with fogbanks where you can only see ten meters ahead.

Recommended: to those who say "by now electronic music is always the same, we've reached the point of no return, and glitch here, and clicks'n'cuts there..." Hold on: here you go into shock. Total reset.
Not recommended: to those journalists who, when they can't understand an album, say it's crap.

If you think you’re too grown-up to say 'now I’m going out and smashing everything,' listen to this track and you’ll realize how music can sometimes shape you as it pleases.

Autechre have never been so warm, yet also angry.

"Aiming towards the future, but with a glance at the past," this is the phrase that the Manchester duo seems to state.

Untilted is an ambitious and successful album that will satisfy from last-minute fans to nostalgic old ones, in a unique and unrepeatable flow.
