Kraut rock, the electronic kind, is an exact science.

It is music with well-defined boundaries, both in its rhythm, which stolidly repeats to the orthodoxy of the 4/4, and in an imaginary transposition into physical space. Kraut rock is a polygon with sharp angles and smooth, frictionless walls, the musical equivalent of Kubrick's monolith, which descended upon us 40 years ago to open the doors to a new musical perception. Its progress seems to have always existed, it is the sound of the cosmos, so mechanistic and unstoppable is its unfolding through time and space. And if one had to, for practicality, mention a single name from the scene, it would be difficult not to associate this musical vision with Kraftwerk.

For more than forty years, this mechanical and futuristic idea of music made with machines has fascinated and continues to fascinate a host of musicians. There are those who have traced and expanded its rhythmic intuitions, those who have been inspired to create electronic music ever more projected into the future, and there are also those who have shaped their image on that robotic and retro-futuristic look of Kraftwerk.

Finally, there are those like Tim Gane, for whom krautrock has become almost a way of life, first with Stereolab and now with this project, Cavern Of Anti-Matter, now on their third album. Gane's unwavering faith towards the aforementioned Kraftwerk, Harmonia, or Cluster, and all the band of crazy Germans tinkering with the first synthesizers and early electronic drums.

“Hormone Lemonade”, compared to the previous “Void Beats/Invocation Trex”, presents itself as a single flow of robotic consciousness, constructed as it is from a cut and paste resulting from three hours of improvisation done with two self-built synths (for the record named Taktron Z2 and Z3),

The result? Halfway between the wet dream of anyone singing in the shower “Europa Endlos” by Kraftwerk and a (perhaps) unnecessary Trans Europe Express version 2.0. And so the level of appreciation greatly depends on your level of liking/addiction to these sounds. Personally, I am in a full mechanistic kraut period, so personally a big yes.
