Moose Blood have done it again. Whether they've done it better or worse is yet to be determined. The album sounds much fresher compared to the previous one, and the completely pink cover already gives a different idea of what awaits us. The production is perhaps more polished, they are more precise, more confident as well, it is clear that they are trying to give a new direction to their career, that they are attempting to make a better record. The problem is that in wanting to improve the sound, making the atmosphere sweeter, the lyrics suffer quite a bit. Sometimes they seem too sentimental and already heard, and all that simplicity, that shy approach to the song, those references to the nineties that had made fans of the group smile are no longer there. That melancholic vein that permeated their debut album here fades and is only felt in tracks like "Shimmer." But despite this, the album stands its ground and remains a very good album. Releasing an album that matches its predecessor wasn't simple, but Moose Blood have held their own and are paving the way for an even more prosperous future given the numerous fans they are gaining worldwide.
