Leader of Porcupine Tree and a prolific solo artist. Also associated with projects such as Blackfield, Bass Communion, No-Man and I.E.M.; noted for high production standards, frequent collaborations (reviews mention Tony Levin, Robert Fripp, Guthrie Govan, Marco Minnemann, Ninet Tayeb, Nick Beggs) and stylistic shifts between prog rock, electronic and pop.
