Recommended film: Birdman
Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu
Plot:
Former movie star Riggan Thomson is busy staging an ambitious Broadway play and hopes the new production can revive his stagnant career. The work proves to be particularly challenging, but he wants to show critics that he is a true artist and not just an actor capable of supporting roles.
Review:
So, this is a film that amazes not so much for the plot because it's somewhat seen and revisited, but actually, it's beautiful the way Iñárritu stages it, namely through a single and very long continuous shot and also through a beautiful cinematography and a masterful technical level. But above all, the film is also, in a certain sense, a critique of the world of cinecomics, but partly also of the web and most of all cinema in general. Then, the actors are excellent, but more than anyone else, besides Michael Keaton, an exceptional Edward Norton stands out.
