THE REVIEW

"Winning team doesn't change!".

I believe this is the phrase uttered by our Steve as he entered the recording studios in Richmond, Virginia, accompanied by the now well-tested and incredibly solid young adventure companions. We are at the third discographic chapter of Mr. Wynn together with the Miracle 3, namely Jason Victor, Linda Pitmon, and Dave DeCastro. It's the spring of 2010 and it's yet another important discographic chapter for the one who back in the early eighties created that authentic war machine known as The Dream Syndicate.

Because I've already said it hundreds of times: I won't dismiss anything by Steve, least of all an album that opens with the very high-level electricity of "Resolution". Approximately six minutes that very well represent the untamed spirit of the former young long-haired lad from Los Angeles, who is now reaching the age of fifty. A very solid and linear drum, a first guitar, Steve, crafting a disarmingly simple riff; a second six-string, Jason's, which immediately sharpens the sound with ultra-acidic notes and tons of distortion. And finally the voice, that so familiar voice with that "normal" tone of a composed Rocker... No fuss, no more words: this is the Steve I've always favored, with the song growing ever more intense. The references to that beloved Syndicate of ours are obvious. An open-stage applause.

The nighttime atmospheres, the ballads, the Psychedelic bursts, the controlled aggression are not lacking: all already widely heard on other occasions.

But Steve can always be trusted...

I'm done.

Ad Maiora.
