The Profile

Atrocity is a German metal band formed in 1985 and led by vocalist Alex Krull. They began with technical-leaning death metal and issued concept albums such as Hallucinations (1990), Todessehnsucht (1992), and Blut (1994). Later they explored gothic/industrial sounds and 80s pop covers on Werk 80, and continued with varied projects into the Okkult series.

Early releases appeared on Nuclear Blast (EP Blue Blood, 1989). Werk 80 was produced with Bruno Kramm (Das Ich) and features covers like Shout, Tainted Love and Wild Boys, with guest vocals by Liv Kristine on several tracks.

German metal shape-shifters Atrocity get a mixed but engaged reception on DeBaser. Early 90s death metal era (Todessehnsucht) is praised; later turns (Atlantis, Werk 80) draw interest and caveats. Expect technical death metal roots, gothic/EBM touches, and bold 80s pop covers.
