Let's say it right away: this CD is musically worth zero. After all, Marco Corbelli, who is the owner of Atrax Morgue, one of the most renowned power-noise projects in Europe, is the first to say in interviews that he considers himself a non-musician. Apart from the grotesque introduction, all twelve “songs” (all recorded live) are built on the same false line: brutal white noise in the background with some sporadic frequency changes accompanying a recitative, psychotic, and filtered voice.

From a musical point of view, therefore, the whole thing is far too monolithic and not even very original, since each piece could resemble a sort of “Frankie Teardrop” by Suicide without our protagonist having the vocal qualities of a Vega or a Galas; yet his intellectual work centered on a theme as sordid as the sick mind of a homicidal sexual maniac manages to be terribly evocative and believable, both when he “sings the mind” of the pervert excited by the sight of the victim “Perfect to Kill (Your Beauty Is Your Condemnation)” and when he narrates the obsession (“Sperm On Red Plastic”), and when he recites the repentance after committing the horrible misdeed (“Disgusted”, “I Execrate My Eyes”).

If you buy this CD, you won't be able to listen to it more than two or three times, given the uncompromising brutality with which Atrax Morgue expresses itself, but on the other hand, you will have a work endowed with an expressiveness never reached by many of his colleagues nor by the grand guignolesque buffooneries of some pseudo-industrial chart-topping band.
