Astral Doors are a Swedish heavy/power metal band formed in Borlänge in 2002. Known for a classic 80s-styled sound and the distinctive voice of Nils Patrik Johansson, they debuted with Of the Son and the Father (2003) and followed with albums including Evil Is Forever (2005) and Astralism (2006).

Formed in 2002 in Borlänge, Sweden; debut album Of the Son and the Father released in 2003; vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson is often compared to Ronnie James Dio. Early lineup on the debut: Johansson (vocals), Joachim Nordlund and Martin Haglund (guitars), Mika Itäranta (bass), Joakim Roberg (keyboards), Johan Lindstedt (drums). Supported Blind Guardian on a 2006 European tour. Sound rooted in classic 80s heavy metal with NWOBHM overtones.
