Welcome back, more than a review this is a gift I want to give you.
I give you all the albums by Asteroid #4. This FANTASTIC group! The albums are available for streaming IN FULL! At the link attached. It's from their official website. So everything is fine. The albums are almost impossible to find here, and I want you to listen to them as soon as possible.
This one I'm talking about is their latest released in September 2008 "These Flowers Of Ours". The band, which couldn't be more indie, is on the label of the good Anton Newcombe from the Brian Jonestown Massacre. He has gathered some bands, some of which are NOT TO BE MISSED. "The Asteroid #4" and "The Quarter After" at the forefront.
Let's get to Asteroid #4. A Philadelphia group making new-psychedelic music as I like it. Here you'll find the Church from "Heyday", the same Brian Jonestown, and finally, as always, THE BYRDS. It's kind of the same discourse we've already made, they are not the only ones doing new-psychedelic, but they are the ones with their feet most solidly planted in the late sixties.
The album: 1) Opens with "My Love", an excellent calling card, a 45 rpm track straight out of the '60s. Opens a bracket in my days that I would never like to close. 2) "Let It Go" and again I can shout to the miracle. One of the best tracks I've ever heard. Undoubtedly reminiscent of the Church from "Heyday", the best ever. You'll listen to it again, oh yes, you'll listen to it again! 3) "Hold On", starts with harmonica and guitar, then the track explodes. These albums that start with three out of three I LOVE THEM! 4) "I Look Around", another memorable sixties track like the Byrds. And at this point, the album has already repaid you for all the day's struggles. 5) "Shes All I Need" and here you'll say "look at what he's gone to find!" (after that "choice of adjectives good one for the other") 6) "War" nice track slower and longer than the others, still at very high levels. 7) "Flowers Of Ours", after so much beauty, here comes nothing less than the title track. An EPIC 45 rpm on the same level as "Let It Go". Tracks from the History of Rock. 8) "Hei Nah Lah" and here's the touch of the Brian Jonestown with Sitar and everything. 9) "She touched the sky". Beautiful, a true flight. To be listened to at full volume. 10) "All Fall Down". Can you believe we are already at 10 heart-stopping tracks!. Even this one does not disappoint. No filler. 11) "Empty Like A Little Child". And they keep going. More a prayer than a song. Sixties guitars in the background. You'll tell me later.
It ends here. The streaming has a great audio quality level. Asteroid #4 are talented people. One last thing about the other albums. There's the previous one "An Amazing Dream". Listen to "Into The Meadow" right away. Enjoy listening. Alex
