Kenny Clarke (January 9, 1914 – January 26, 1985) was an American jazz drummer, widely regarded as a pioneer of modern jazz drumming and bebop. Nicknamed "Klook," he shifted timekeeping emphasis to the ride cymbal and later co-led the Kenny Clarke/Francy Boland Big Band while living in Europe.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Nicknamed "Klook." Pioneering bebop drummer who emphasized the ride cymbal for timekeeping. Associated with Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, the Modern Jazz Quartet (early associations), and co-led the Kenny Clarke/Francy Boland Big Band after relocating to Europe.
