THE REVIEW

For those like me who are used to listening to a lot of modern metal, let's take a leap into the past to visit a beautiful era: the '80s. We find ourselves in the golden decade of Heavy Metal, where the albums defined as "classics" of the genre were born, and where bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest made their mark. Yes, the type of music on this CD (also almost considered a classic) is akin to the aforementioned bands.

Sometimes cheerful, sometimes violent, the drums follow pumping patterns and beautiful guitar solos that wander with some lovely melodic rhythms. Few downturns in these 40 minutes of original Heavy Metal. Highly recommended is the first track "Armored Saint", where guitarist Dave Prichard, who died 6 years later from an illness, gives his best. Every Metal enthusiast should know Armored Saint, who unfortunately never managed to achieve the fame they truly could have, due to a contract with an incompetent record label.

Positives: much classicism, beautiful solos, exciting rhythms.

Negatives: very familiar to Iron Maiden and similar bands.

March Of The Saint by Armored Saint takes listeners back to the golden era of 80s heavy metal, drawing comparisons to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. The album features energetic rhythms and memorable guitar solos, especially by the late Dave Prichard. Despite some similarities to other classic bands, the album remains a must-listen for metal fans. Its lack of widespread fame is attributed to poor label support rather than quality.

Armored Saint

Armored Saint is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1982. Known for John Bush’s commanding vocals and Joey Vera’s bass work, the group became a cult fixture of American power metal, peaking critically with Symbol of Salvation (1991). After a 90s hiatus tied to Bush’s tenure in Anthrax, the band returned and continues to release new music and tour.
