Keith Relf was previously the vocalist of the Yardbirds and a member of Renaissance. The band's sole studio album, Armageddon, was released in 1975. Keith Relf died from an electric shock in May 1976.

Lewis Tollani's review praises Armageddon's 1975 self-titled album as a powerful, corrective shake-up to mid-70s rock. It highlights the supergroup lineup led by Keith Relf and the aggressive, proto-metal moments on tracks such as "Buzzard" and the closing suite. The review links the record to later metal vocal styles and notes Relf's tragic death in 1976. Overall the piece frames the album as a brief but influential attempt to redirect rock.

For:Fans of 1970s hard rock, proto-metal, and classic rock history seekers.

It was 1975 and rock was starting to suffer a bit of fatigue, pompous, contrived, and even self-celebratory musical constructions flooded the airwaves in a suffocating manner.
