Rosalba Pippa (aka Arisa) can easily be considered one of the most beautiful voices in the Italian music scene. A certainty, I would say. Precise, perfectly in tune, and aware. Her repertoire ranges from intense ballads to successful collaborations (Takagi & Ketra from 2017 with 153 million views on YouTube!!!), contributing to various movie soundtracks that have indeed left a mark. Then, a lot of TV. X-Factor ("Simona sei una falsaaaa!!!), Amici della De Filippi where she was booted out despite her forgoing Pechino Express, and a role as co-host at Sanremo. In short, she is quite seasoned. She has the experience. If for no other reason than those continuous changes of record labels that finally "convinced" her to found her own label (Pippa Show), where she says she can finally unleash her creativity. Thus, after participating in the Sanremo Festival 2021 with the D'alessiana "Potevi fare di piu'" and a second single titled "Ortica" almost entirely in Neapolitan dialect, the Lucanian artist with a thousand improbable hairstyles has released a third single titled "Psyco". Which makes one say "wow, who is this woman singing?". The song attempts to provide an emancipated depiction of a woman in a narrative where the protagonist claims a potential love triangle rather than the desire to indulge passion at her own pleasure. All wrapped up with a lot of electronics, catchy choruses, and equally altered voices from autotune. For heaven's sake, today it's very trendy, but perhaps it’s unexpected from Arisa. Yet, despite all this, it turns out to be credible. Convincing. Rosalba Pippa, also thanks to the good video, manages in this song to convey a bit of healthy madness, a desire to take risks, to do something that is far from her comfort zone. Maybe it won’t be a song that will remain among her pearls. But it is undoubtedly a piece in her career on which to build growth that we will see where it will lead.
