Usually, I start with a question, but it's right to lower the bar before finding all your writings, not understood by the people of debaser, in the oblivion of DeCasi (or perhaps not even those). So this time I warn you, open your mind, do not let the words I say be mere trash or coincidence, they are streams of consciousness trying to find a destination. In the Death Grips review, I overdid the nonsense, but now I'll try to light bulbs; an understanding seen in the third person of the album I will talk about, hence for you pom pom of Ariel Pink.
Ariel Pink, there are still some who think he is a woman, not listening to one of the most lucid minds of the last 2 decades is pretty much, mind-blowing, like "magic mushrooms," if ingested in large quantities, they lead you to the sublimation of existence. It's not difficult to exist in this world, but it's much harder to survive. Existence, as it is, passes beyond our own life, after physical death, our material things remain for posterity and our memories remain in the chests of the minds of our loved ones, like joys plated in gold and silver, collected over time or stolen, here and there, without ever looking back to see if we got away with it. The musical '80s are dead, it's useless to go around it so much, memories remain, and our dear friend Pink gives us back all these memories, this time not limiting to the much-maligned decade but capturing the two adjacent ones as well. What will remain of these years '10? Perhaps RAF doesn’t know, also musically dead or perhaps never existed, but they left a question that was grasped more by people who considered themselves alternative in those '80s than by those who used music like a disposable razor, so sharp that it injures, blood runs through all the songs and in every recognized or friendly melody, one can get drunk with sex, not vulgar, but anal, because Ariel, although vocally virile, does not reveal his sexuality, the falsetto becomes a feminine moment, and a baritone voice becomes animal. Forget the collective, their plastic and sugary psychedelia here distorts, cassettes and VHS, have always been present since the first work of the pinkish humunculus and these will not abandon us easily. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for Ariel Pink to make his sound clean and marketable, his store does not sell retail but is a megastore where everything is purchasable without too much bureaucracy. The problem now is that the megastore has been completely emptied of all the trinkets of his heart, and his first solo work might become his last, beginning and end, Yin and Yang, Desire to travel and Saudade, Pink is Pink.
So the final question: Can Ariel Pink be said to be completely emptied of his past ghosts? Will he finally be able to make music for the future?
P.S. @Korrea: No Rappers.
