Arcangelo Corelli (1653–1713) was an Italian Baroque composer and violinist, influential in the development of the concerto grosso and in violin technique; author of important sonata and concerto collections (Op.1–Op.6).

Born 17 February 1653 in Fusignano; died 8 January 1713 in Rome. Buried in the Pantheon, Rome. Known for the Violin Sonatas (including Op.5) and the 12 Concerti Grossi, Op.6.
