Released in 2001, "Yahweh or the Highway" is the latest creation produced by the Providence band before their breakup (which led to the birth of the equally valid Chinese Stars), the last testament of the group's devastating and disturbing power, dedicated to noise practices that to call extreme is an understatement: guitars that fire rapid metallic screeches under hallucinogen and a continuous flow of atonality, the bass drum constantly beaten with obsessive and monotonous rhythms... and even the hypnotic anti-melodies, staggering, shrill and acidic, of vocalist Eric "Post-Traumatic Stress" Paul hurt, in which the deconstructive influence of the Royal Trux of "Twin Infinitives" seems strong.
A deadly sonic bombardment that approaches the Nippo-subversive chaos of the Boredoms, and compared to which Public Image Ltd, DNA, and Mars seem like candy (NOTE, in terms of hostility, not quality...); impossible to indicate tracks better than others, it's all a continuous flow of sonic filth, and perhaps also impossible to distinguish "Yahweh..." from previous works.

Hallucinated, mentally sick, difficult, if one is not prepared for listening, they can be exhausting... Arab On Radar approaches the concept of the extreme in music, with the pros (few) and cons (many) that this entails.
In short, you either hate them or love them. I lean more toward the latter.

The chaos seems irreparable, yet they happily revel in this sonic turmoil.

25 minutes across 8 songs and afterward, everything returns to calm in your head, but something remains hidden.
