I have always imagined that tour of Providence as the most real and concrete snapshot of a bustling and territorial underground since the days of SST.

There were these groups of big men charting a single line from Peter Brotzmann to Arto Lindsay (New York era), passing through "Flowers Of Romance" and the uncompromising abrasiveness of the primordial Siltbreeze. "Soak The Saddle" is this and nothing else, a boiling cauldron where everything happens, where the propulsive tribalism of the drums becomes the shield for the rattling off-syncopation of the guitars and an increasingly less low bass.

You can dance on this thing, where the thing has more to do with the monolith of the Fantastic Four than mere objects. I've spent more time with these words than listening to these twenty minutes of fire.
