LA RECENSIONE

Apoptosi are back with a new release, confirming themselves as one of the most remarkable acts in contemporary Italian hardcore/grind. Average age barely high-school — the oldest member just shy of 17 — yet their attitude feels forged through decades of sweat, unlikely gigs, and damp basements.

After Verso un futuro di completa anestesia, released in April 2024, the band returns just one year later with Per tutto il male che avete fatto. The formula remains unchanged: lightning-fast tracks, killer tempos, relentless hardcore punk fired off with no respite and screamed — or rather poured on you — with an intensity that swings between nihilism, resentment, a sense of helplessness, and collective frustration.

In Ancora una volta we also find a refinement in songwriting: «il valore di una vita si legge su un planisfero / su una scala cromatica, su un conto bancario» — verses that reveal a remarkable maturity for the age of the band. Fuck The Sgomberi and Per il tuo piatto instead dive into the roots of anarcho-punk, focusing on issues such as the right to housing and animal liberation.

Every track oozes the rage of a generation grown up among broken promises and environmental devastation, forced to watch a world collapse while being asked to smile. “Questo disco nasce da tutto il male che avete fatto”: not just a slogan, but a survival manifesto.
