The Profile

Apolokia is an Italian black metal project founded in 1994 in L'Aquila (Abruzzo), principally driven by Von Blackfrost (Alex Catania) and Lord Veerminard (Francesco Morese). The project's first full-length, Kathaarian Vortex, was released in 2013 after a long period of demos and an EP.

Kathaarian Vortex (2013) is described as intentionally crushing, chaotic and elitist — challenging listeners rather than courting them. The record mixes classical black metal references with harsh industrial elements and drum machines.
