LA RECENSIONE

Wonderful vinyl by AFX alias Aphex Twin. It's a picture disc on both sides. And on both sides there's the legendary Aphex Twin logo, both black on white background and white on black background. Needless to say, from the long series of vinyls titled Analord (11 episodes!!!), I'm only missing number 11, but only because it hasn't arrived at my trusted store yet...
I still think they aren't great tracks, they seem rather old-fashioned (and I'm not the only one who thinks so, from what I read around) but I have to admit I'm completely ignorant in the "old school house" field, while those who know more than me claim with conviction (and in adoration!) that this "saga" of AFX is practically a tribute to the pioneers of house music and their historic tracks, as only he could have done.

As for this pictorial masterpiece that is the picture disc, the tenth episode of the mammoth Analord series, I already have in mind what to do with it: I'll place it in the center of my room, instead of the chandelier shaped like a giant light bulb; I'll lower a cable from the ceiling, hang the vinyl as if it were a large coin, then with four spotlights at the corners of the room, I'll illuminate it, so when it spins, moved by the air or the jumps of Ronaldo, my dwarf rabbit, it illuminates everything immensely.

The tracks on the disc? Who's listened to them... If the needle of the turntable happens to scratch the vinyl and ruin the design of the disc? I don't even think about it...
