Anton Hunter is a Manchester-based British jazz composer and guitarist. His work emphasises improvisation; his main project is the Anton Hunter Trio. He has led larger ensembles such as Article XI and operates within experimental and free-jazz contexts.

Based in Manchester. Founder of The Noise Upstairs (an experimental centre of free-improvisation, noted as active since 2007). Co-founder of Efpi Records with Ben Cottrell and Sam Andreae. Main project: Anton Hunter Trio (members include James Adolpho and drummer Johnny Hunter). Album Article XI: live recordings from 2014, commissioned by the Manchester Jazz Festival, released on Efpi Records; the ensemble on the album is a seven-piece wind section without piano and the project references Article Eleven of the European Convention on Human Rights.
